Donald Trump was asked about his weird promise to make sure there was still gold in Fort Knox and his response was 24 carat fool’s gold

The Fort Knox Bullion Depository in Fort Knox, KY currently holds 147,341,858.382 fine troy ounces of gold. No visitors are allowed at one of the most noteworthy gold storage facilities in the world.

Because of that, conspiracy theories have popped up claiming that there is actually no gold in the building.

One of those theorists happens to be the President of the United States of America, who made it a singular mission of his to visit the site and confirm that no one stole any of that gold.

He brought this up repeatedly for weeks. He even got Elon Musk on the case (before the bros’ very messy public break up).

So when the President was asked about the Fort Knox audit on a podcast recently, it was a little alarming that he had absolutely no idea what the host was talking about.

To be fair, Trump makes a lot of baseless claims. So it’s understandable that he might have trouble keeping his lies straight.

Lucky for the President, Twitter swooped in to supply plenty of reminders.
