This election vox pop didn’t go quite as anyone expected and people were appalled and deeply envious at the same time
Vox pops are a big part of the media’s election coverage, of course, finding out what the ordinary person on the street makes of the people pretending to know they have a clue how to run the country.
And we’ve featured no end of them in the past, not least this woman in the immediate aftermath of Rishi Sunak’s surprise election announcement.
good evening to this woman on BBC News: pic.twitter.com/yzsz81esK6

Well now we’ve got another to add to the vox pop hall of fame. It’s Alison fro Cheadle interviewed on the BBC and if you only watch one election vox pop today, make it this one.

We are simultaneously shocked, appalled, and deeply, deeply envious.
But most of all – just why did she agree to it in the first place?

This lady represents the vast majority of British voters.
They aren’t interested, they don’t know and they just follow their gut. https://t.co/18x4HTU1ak

I want to be Alison.

I think actually there are lots of people like this and the media should do more to explain how an election works, what MPs do, and why it’s important we all participate. https://t.co/41JPrz6eFN

All vox pops must be recorded in pubs or on market stalls. It’s the law

Funny – but broader point is this obsession by the media to get the opinion of ‘Mr or Mrs. Joe Public’ every 5 minutes.
No substance just nonsense like this
(Well done on the Bingo though Alison ) https://t.co/ccYshszsl0— Dan O’Riordan (@Dan_ORiordan) June 6, 2024
Good news on the bingo though

I want to live in Alison’s world where you’re able to live a in a bubble without watching the news or using social media https://t.co/qn8Hw2CRAs

To conclude.
I would much rather be like Alison. https://t.co/4trXGPVQqn
