The replies to Julia Hartley-Brewer are very satisfactory indeed
It began with a discussion about whether members of the Cabinet had said Brexit would be easy.
Here’s Sun journalist Tom Newton Dunn.
Brandon Lewis, on Brexit: “We never said this would be easy”. Others in the Cabinet did actually #bbcsp

To which journalist and Talk Radio presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer replied …
But what about this, Julia?
Liam Fox said ‘Brexit will be the easiest deal in human history’ and DD said ‘we will have trade deals done by tea time.’ 2 of the inmates with keys to the asylum.

Ah, she had an answer for that too.
Yes, easiest not easy. Words have meanings. Different words have different meanings.

Come again????
Here’s a flavour of the epically bonkers exchanges that followed. Peak stupidity? Peak Brexit? Peak Hartley-Brewer? All of those things, probably. And more.
1.
Person: Julia Hartley-Brewer is the easiest woman in human history.
J H-B: Are you calling me easy?
Person: No. Different words have different meanings. Now do you see how mental you sound?

2.
Time for your tablets, I think.

3.
“Easiest” means MOST easy.
Not “not easy”.
It means “more easy than any of a given set of alternatives”.
As in VERY EASY.
Being easy is REQUIRED in order to be easiest.
In a Venn diagram, the “easiest” circle would be INSIDE the “easy” circle.STOP PRETENDING TO BE STUPID.

4.
Maths A Level is easier than a Maths degree, which is easier than a Maths masters. The A level is the easiest of the three. That doesn’t make it easy. STOP PRETENDING TO BE STUPID.
— Julia Hartley-Brewer (@JuliaHB1) February 5, 2018
5.
Ok, so by that rationale you DO think Liam Fox thinks every other deal in history other than Brexit has been nearly impossible? Because that’s the only way that applies.
Or are you being completely disingenuous in order to double down on having said something incredibly dumb?
— Mitch Benn (@MitchBenn) February 5, 2018
6.
That doesn’t follow at all.
— Julia Hartley-Brewer (@JuliaHB1) February 5, 2018
7.
Fine, whatever, I give up. “Easy” is the opposite of “easiest” if you say so.
That’s actually one of the MORE logical positions currently being taken by the Brexit Moonies right now.— Mitch Benn (@MitchBenn) February 5, 2018
8.
Easiest in human history doesn’t mean easy?
