Spare a thought for this other chap called Danny Baker at this difficult time
Danny Baker has been fired by Radio 5 Live after he was accused of posting a racially insensitive tweet about the birth of the royal baby.
Baker apologised after his tweet – later deleted – but it wasn’t enough to stop him getting the sack.
This is what he had to say about it later as he started trending on Twitter.
Ha! I see my silly unthinking gag pic earlier has me trending. Last time that happened it had been announced I had head cancer. On balance…

Once again. Sincere apologies for the stupid unthinking gag pic earlier. Was supposed to be joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte.
Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel. pic.twitter.com/86cQGbAhDc— Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 8, 2019
Then this happened.
Just got fired from @bbc5live.
For the record – it was red sauce. Always.— Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 9, 2019
But it wasn’t only the broadcaster Danny Baker who was getting grief over it. There was also this chap called … Danny Baker.
Why the fuck am I a racist scumbag? Who the fuck are you?

I haven’t posted any pictures – I think you’ve got your Danny Baker’s mixed up.

Some people need to check who they’re tweeting – made himself look a bit of a tit. I will await his apology.

I’m getting grief for his fucking tweet – because I have the same name as him!

Finally he couldn’t take it anymore.
I AM NOT THE DANNY BAKER PLEASE STOP GETTING ME MIXED UP WITH THE PRESENTER ONE!

To which the best reply was undoubtedly this one.
Have you met @johnlewis? I reckon you’d get on.
