Government cuts at a glance

As confusion mounts both inside the coalition government and amongst the public at large over what cuts will hit where and how hard, David Cameras-on‘s office released an explanatory infographic today to ‘simplify the issues for everyone’.

“This child tax credit thing has been a right old mess,” said Conservative Party spokesperson Tristram Underchild, “so we are issuing this infographic in order to make everything as clear as gin.”

“The first thing to go is numbers. People find numbers confusing so we’ve got rid of them. They like things set in a familiar context – like a cow. See?”

“Never in history has a deficit-busting programme set out so clearly exactly what is at steak.”

Labour, however, have reacted with scorn.

“This is typical of Conservative thinking,” said Ed Milibert. “It’s patronising and it’s stupid. We would have done it on a pig. Or a sheep! A nice big fluffy sheep.”
