People are sharing things that would make them go to the cinema more and we hope they take notice

I went to a comedy show recently where all phones went into a special pouch that would only unlock in the lobby. Everyone was engaged in the show, it was amazing.

One tip for shushing someone in a movie: be friendly. And not sarcastically.
There’s something about being shushed in the dark that makes people very defensive. I’m not a psychiatrist. I don’t know why.
But if you’re sincere / polite it sometimes helps.

My wish list for a theater would be: Intermissions, more casual seating atmosphere (no theater with space should have to make you feel like you’re sitting in a plane nowadays), dining options, actual ushers who will kick out rude customers, optional no-children screenings

I would be willing to pay extra to not have to sit through 15 minutes of commercials before the movie.

#2 is good but also worrying for people like me who enjoy talking and hearing other people talk during movies.
I really like the audience communicating with itself because it makes the experience interactive.— The One True Scarf (@gx40000) August 5, 2018
