The Apprentice candidates sold chilli doughnuts for £5 each and the hole thing’s unbelievable – 19 funny reactions
The candidates on BBC One’s ‘The Apprentice’ were tasked with making tempting, professional-standard doughnuts to sell to corporate and individual clients – as is so often the case, it was a bit of a sh*tshow. During the development stage, a doughnut flavoured with chilli actually caused a candidate, Frank, to choke – yet they still proceeded to offer it for sale.
Another big problem was the price they set, which was £5 per doughnut or four for £16. This was particularly hard for people to stomach, as these 19 reactions illustrate.

I have lived in London for like five years and I still don’t feel like a bonafide Londoner as I have never been approached by a contestant on The Apprentice selling something gross and overpriced on the street

I wish that they’d take #TheApprentice tasks to Glasgow.
Can just imagine some walloper on Buchanan Street trying to flog four donuts for £16. pic.twitter.com/iM3a6tecFa

Who pays £4 for a doughnut? I mean, Theresa May would pay £10 for the promise of half a doughnut some time next Wednesday, but I'm talking about ordinary people. #TheApprentice

And the moral of the story of #TheApprentice is, yet again, Londoners are happy to overpay: £5 for a donut stuffed with chilli?! It’s 60p for 5 in my local Tesco and they look edible!

Watching #TheApprentice I feel I need to confess something to you. I am useless at baking and making donuts.
How on earth did I ever set up a successful enterprise, when I lack this core business skill!
