Asking random members of the public for their opinions is a tried and tested way of filling airtime for news channels everywhere. But if it’s a live broadcast, there’s always the danger of something unexpected and unwelcome happening before there’s a chance to edit it out – like this bleak moment during a Spanish news item about a robbery that had been carried out with a toy gun.
