Piers Morgan’s weird take on a People’s Vote earned him these 11 scathing takedowns
Piers Morgan isn’t known for being the voice of reason, having brought attention to the strange workings of his mind by “fat-shaming” Little Mix, criticising a dad for dressing up as Elsa with his young son, and completely losing it over the existence of a vegan sausage roll. His latest flex was not just weird, but also very contrary.
I voted Remain.
But if there's a 2nd Referendum before we even try to honour the result of the 1st, then I will vote Leave purely as a protest against this ongoing attempt to defy & destroy British democracy.
I suspect I'm not alone. #Brexit— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 30, 2019
Let me translate that for you – he’d do something he thinks is damaging to the country on a point of principle that isn’t valid because the thing he says hasn’t happened actually has.
His hot take put him right in the firing line for these savage clapbacks.

Get a grip. How about making your mind up based on whether a real choice as opposed to unicorns and fantasies is the right choice for the future. The Brexit the liars promised Is undeliverable. People can now have informed debate (not your scene I know) and make informed choice https://t.co/gST6Dfnr39

I think they have spent 2 and a half years trying to honour the first referendum, but the unicorns people were promised have not and will not materialise (not to mention the illegal actions of the Leave campaign).

“British democracy” is a system of representative democracy. Direct democracy requires a properly informed electorate and a question with answers that provide an unambiguous instruction. But, of course, you know all of that really *sighs*

VoteLeave broke the law. What kind of democracy is that?

Let’s see, voting for a huge, damaging constitutional change to the Country as a protest vote.
That will teach the Country!

That’s only correct – go fuck yourself, metaphorically

The right to free speech and to be able to campaign for a second referendum IS true democracy. Denying it is not.

One of the architects of the case proving the Leave campaign acted illegally, Christopher Wylie, spotted the strange comment and had this to say.
Wait… so how exactly will holding another democratic vote “destroy British democracy”?

Strangely, there’s been no reply.
