Peter Hitchens did an Ed Balls – and we don’t mean he appeared on Strictly
With only a few weeks to go to Ed Balls Day, it’s understandable that excitement is building as we wait to see how the man himself will respond this year to his special day. For right-wing commentator, Peter Hitchens, the excitement seems to have got a bit too much and he tweeted his own name, obviously as a tribute. Or, just possibly, he tried to search for his own name on Twitter so he could argue with people complaining about his latest hot take, and it went wrong.
This is the “offending” tweet.

And this is a screenshot, just in case …
With a gift like that landing in their laps, how could the people of Twitter not make the most of it?

Thank you but I pay no attention to Peter Hitchens Day, which I associate with a right wing attempt to abolish Ed Balls Day. https://t.co/ldQKpaJN96

This guy follows zero accounts and clearly namesearches. These are classic telltales of poor character and of certain strains of internet-induced brain disease https://t.co/nEH0o8TDs5

You know that time I didn’t tag Peter Hitchens but he still tried to argue with me anyway because he searches for himself on Twitter…?
Seems he still does. lol. pic.twitter.com/57QxaGPRsT

Actor, Rufus Sewell, had a third theory about the tweet.
He spelt Christopher wrong.

That’s probably it.
