This 26-second clip of The Day Today is the most fitting description of Boris Johnson’s behaviour
Although Lady Hale didn’t say it in so many words, the judgement she revealed on Tuesday effectively means that Boris Johnson must have deceived the Queen when he advised her to prorogue parliament. It’s not something that happens often, or at least it’s not something that PMs get caught out on very often, but this fantastic spoof from the groundbreaking show, The Day Today, comes as close as anything can to describing the situation.

Armando Iannucci and Chris Morris’s spoof news show seems to have been thirty per cent comedy and seventy per cent prophecy. If political commentators aren’t all poring over every episode, they’re missing a trick.
