Politics financial times nigel farage
Nigel Farage’s sneering response to a journalist when she asked about Reform’s education policy came straight from the Donald Trump playbook, and the internet saw right through him

She should tell him not to speak to her like that. Our journalists should not take it like American ones do.

Apart from his tetchiness, it was the FT that broke much of the recent Mandelson/Epstein affair so Farage is also flat wrong in his insinuations that they didn’t cover it.

Nigel Farage refuses to answer a question about all 5 of his cabinet members going to expensive private schools.
Because he doesn't care.
If you aren't a millionaire and you vote Reform, Nigel Farage is going to sh*t on you.

Farage absolutely clueless on the Epstein/Mandelson story here, where the FT (especially @pickardje.bsky.social) has led the way on recent revelations. His thin skin could easily become a vulnerability.

People sometimes praise Farage for taking lots of questions from the press.
That seems irrelevant when he regularly responds to reasonable questions in insulting and Trump-like terms, often attacking individual journalists and their outlets. Collectively, the lobby shouldn’t stand for it.— James Chapman (@jamesmchapman.bsky.social) February 17, 2026 at 6:31 PM

Why didn't Farage just answer the question about Reform's education policy?
Why did he seek to mock and ridicule the journalist asking a perfectly legitimate question and try to deligitimise the FT?
Easy. That's who he is. An arrogant man who doesn't have any policies beyond pointing at the sea.

I hope the usual media outlets cover Farage's little tantrum at a question from the FT in the way they would if it was Starmer or Rayner acting in such a petulant manner
