Met Office employees ‘just want to be left alone’

Weather News: After the UK has been hit by a series of flood warnings and heavy rain, the Met Office demands the public stop asking its employees difficult questions about the weather.

“We would ask the public to respect our employees right to privacy at this difficult time,” said Met Office spokesman Robert Fitzroy.“Stress levels in the office are at a record high and a number of employees have already been sent to our special clinic in Switzerland.”

Many employees have been complaining that they can no longer handle the constant questioning about the weather from the public.

“This woman came up to me in the supermarket and demanded to know what had happened to the UK summer,” said one weatherman who wishes to remain anonymous.

“I’m not even sure how she knew I was a weatherman. I couldn’t reply, I just dropped my shopping and ran out the door. I spent the next hour sitting in my car chain-smoking.”
