Donald Trump said this about the restaurant that ejected his press secretary – our favourite responses online
Here’s Donald Trump belatedly weighing in after his press secretary Sarah Sanders was ejected from a restaurant because the owner didn’t like that she worked for the so-called president.
This is what Sanders said at the time.
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so

Which was controversial in itself because people thought she shouldn’t have been using an official account to criticise a private business.
But not as controversial as this.
The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!

And here’s exactly what people made of that.

Pretty sweet that the most powerful man in the world is just an old dude screaming at restaurants https://t.co/z40FYndbzM

As Trump accuses a small Va. restaurant of being "filthy," worth noting the restaurant at Trump's Mar-A-Lago has been cited 78 times in the past three years for health code violations, including "a black/green mold-like substance" on the ice machine. https://t.co/OHryHsWtqt https://t.co/wUplAABwZX

The Red Hen — the restaurant Trump said is "dirty on the inside" — passed its Feb. 2018 inspection with no violations. The restaurant has had three violations in the past four years, two of which were corrected during the time of inspection. https://t.co/pXfiCukyv9

In 2017, Mar-a-Lago was cited for 15 health code violations, including:
– Milk stored above recommended temperature
– Hot dogs on the floor of a walk-in freezer
– Exposed steel rebar
– Malfunctioning smoke detectorsThe President should focus more on his own filthy restaurant. https://t.co/wxxxJxHgqe
