Having a bad week? Could be worse, you could be this guy
Spare a thought for this chap called Douglas who travelled all the way to Russia to watch England in the World Cup and then this happened.
This is Douglas. He was at our hotel in Volgograd. We’ve just bumped in to him in Nizhny Novgorod & he’s realised he’s left his match tickets in the drawer at home in Bristol. If anyone’s got a spare one let me know. #EngPan pic.twitter.com/4zDA5aNvZa

ITV News man Dan Howells shared Douglas’s tale on Twitter to see if he could help and it was more exciting than England games used to be.
DOUGLAS UPDATE. The lads from @sport_options have found him a ticket but now we can’t find him. If anyone spots him, tell him I’ve left a message at his hotel reception.

YES! Except …
Not long left now people. We’ve got Douglas a ticket but urgently need to find him. If you clock him, tell him to get to his hotel reception, pronto. #DiscoverDouglas pic.twitter.com/Zf8h7WiTIJ

NO!
Yeah did you find him? I was actually hooked to this story. I suggest we do a feature.

COME ON ENG, WE MEAN DOUGLAS! Except …
I’m afraid he only got back to his hotel 40 mins before kick off. Couldn’t get to the stadium in time to pick the ticket up.

World Cup heartache all over again. Let’s hope his hotel had it on the telly, although given the way his holiday was going.
Twitter was its usual sympathetic self, as you’d expect.
Forgot his clothes as well?

Let’s go the whole hog and get this bloke a shower, shave, shirt and match-day ticket.

See you in Qatar in 2022, Douglas. Don’t forget your ticket.
