A member of the Question Time audience skewered Nigel Farage on the WTO
Like many other career politicians, Nigel Farage’s modus operandi – not to get too Jacob Rees-Mogg on the matter – is to yell whatever he wants in answer to questions, and he generally goes unchallenged. On last night’s edition of Question Time, he was quizzed on the World Trade Organization, the default position he wants the UK to enter by leaving the EU without a deal.
‘Just answer the question, can you name a country?’

Audience member: Name me one country that is in the WTO rules that doesn’t have an agreement with another country.
NF: Bluster, bluster, bluster, outrage, head-wobble, bluster …(eventually) There isn’t one.
It was obviously a shock to Farage to be pressed for an answer to the actual question. Here are some of the reactions to the revealing exchange.
Nigel Farage's entire political career is based on treating the British public like fools. Watch him squirm when confronted with the facts #bbcqtpic.twitter.com/Kg4nNVU8Sk

I LOVED THIS.
Watching Nigel Farage squirm over this made my night!
He knows leaving the EU without a deal means doing something that EVERY successful economy chooses NOT to do!!
So he has to argue for No Deal by reverting to '2016 Farage' by saying we'll get a great deal!#BBCqt pic.twitter.com/Kbte0BFSMZ— Femi – REGISTER TO VOTE BY 18 JUNE (@Femi_Sorry) May 9, 2019

In a decent world this man would never have to buy another drink. He exposed the lies and ignorance of @Nigel_Farage in a way that eludes chat show host Fiona Bruce (and many proper BBC journalists)#bbcqt pic.twitter.com/imXy5syOui

Well done that man! As soon as charlatan snake oil salesman #Farage is forced to answer an *actual question* (in this case to name a single country which trades solely on WTO terms), he comes unstuck. No answers because he's not interested. #bbcqt pic.twitter.com/zd9UxCAWGE

Here are a few more questions he could have been forced to answer.
Leaked questions* for tonight's #bbcqt with Nigel Farage:
1/ Nigel, who funds you?
2/ Why won’t the Brexit party publish a manifesto?
3/ Why are you saying people voted for No Deal when you told them there would be a deal?
4/ Who funds you?*may not be the actual questions

Maybe next time.
