Never forget the time Dick Van Dyke was rescued by a pod of dolphins
There are so many reasons to love Dick Van Dyke, from his wholesome cheerfulness, to his legendary screen status, right up to the intense burn he fired at Piers Morgan, but it seems we’re not alone – even the dolphins love him.
Back in 2010, he fell asleep on his surfboard – as well you might at the age of 84 – and he drifted away from the shore. In an interview with Craig Ferguson, he said:
“I started paddling with the swells and I started seeing fins swimming around me and I thought ‘I’m dead!’”
“They turned out to be porpoises and they pushed me all the way to shore.”
It sounds unlikely, but the only alternative is that Dick Van Dyke lied to us, and we’re not prepared to accept that.

Dick Van Dyke was rescued by porpoises at the age of 84.
He fell asleep on his surfboard, drifted out to sea, and they helped push him back.

YouTube user baconsandwich asked
Do you think they pushed his surfboard back to shore by accident, or was it on porpoise?
And the less said about that the better.
