This woman refused to hold a colleague’s baby and the new mum wasn’t happy, not happy at all
As if we didn’t have enough to keep us occupied at work along comes this, the dilemma of what to do when a colleague brings in their baby.
Now for lots of people it probably isn’t a dilemma, but it was for this person this woman on Reddit who declined to hold her colleague’s baby and the colleague wasn’t happy, not happy at all.
So much so that Redditor Thatlilone moved to ask if she was in the wrong on subReddit, AmITheAsshole?

Most people said she wasn’t in the wrong (AKA ‘NTA, not the asshole’) with comments such as this
ladyautumnwood: ‘NTA – As a mother to a 5 month old, thank you.She is definitely TA. I wouldn’t dream of forcing someone to hold my child and I definitely wouldn’t let someone hold my child after they said they didn’t want to because of whatever reason.’
Levitts: ‘Totally this, I would appreciate you for not wanting to hold the baby. When I had mine everyone wanted to hold him.and I felt like I was the asshole saying no! Nice to see the other side!’
zoeelynn: ‘NTA. You shouldn’t be expected to like babies, let alone hold one.’
Although not everyone agreed (just most people).
‘It is basic social convention to acknowledge a new birth. This lady was sharing her pride and joy with her work family, and you diminished the moment. It would not have killed you (or the baby) to take 30 seconds to acknowledge the woman’s accomplishment.’
She later had this update.
