James Blunt and Piers Morgan have been feuding on Twitter and Blunt just edged it
It was a heavyweight clash of those two titans of Twitter, or, alternatively, the bloke whose records you don’t buy and the guy you don’t watch on breakfast TV (although we will never stop enjoying Blunt’s 1973. Seriously. Have a listen).
Anyway, it began when Blunt took to Twitter to express, in slightly more NSFW terms than this, his displeasure at the way he was represented in this interview with the Independent. You remember, this one.
THREAD: Hey @edcumming and @Independent – you cunts! In an interview about my new album (out on Friday!), you kept asking about Brexit. I gave you a perfectly reasonable answer that politicians, whatever they choose, should make a decision and move us forward now… pic.twitter.com/QYvIeUTV6D

…because this state of limbo is what’s killing us. I live in Spain, so it would be nice to know. As to how it will end, I don’t know, but I guessed the EU/UK will probably fudge something together, and we’ll have to muddy through, like we always do. A pretty pragmatic answer…

…from someone who’s touring Europe in February (tickets on sale now!). So how does the article end up saying “James Blunt says get the fuck on with Brexit because our lives aren’t going to change”? https://t.co/FaWtSQQ5Ev

But thanks for the coverage.

One unexpected consequence of Blunt’s unexpected politically-charged new direction was that Twitter started bracketing him with Piers Morgan.
I just followed you and twitter suggested I also follow Piers Morgan

Which is when Morgan got involved.
I’d report that as a hate crime. @piersmorgan https://t.co/yK0FXXD8Zm
