Frankie Boyle spotted a deep irony in Chuka Umunna’s call for a Lib Dem presence in a TV debate
The Liberal Democrats are not a bit happy that their leader, Jo Swinson, hasn’t been invited to take part in ITV’s general election head-to-head debate, which is set to include just Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn.
"Women can be political leaders and prime ministers too"
Lib dem leader Jo Swinson calls for her party to be represented in the ITV leaders' debate, saying, "The voice of the millions of people who voted Remain… must be heard"https://t.co/wVj7DC6CJ2 pic.twitter.com/Ixho6je3iq

Scottish political correspondent, Natalie Hunter, challenged Jo Swinson’s reasoning, and it didn’t go down well.
Jo Swinson has said Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn would be 'sexist' if they don't allow her in leader debates. When asked if FM Sturgeon should be allowed, Swinson said 'But she can't be PM.' I said neither can you. 'This interview is over,' she said.

However, the party has launched a legal challenge against ITV’s decision, so they may yet get their chance to face the other leaders. Recently defected MP, Chuka Umunna spotted a poll on the issue, and had this to say.
It seems the public are clear: they want the @LibDems' @JoSwinson in the @ITV #GE2019 election debate. Over to you @ITV – you know what you now need to do. Looking forward to @JoSwinson getting that invite.#DebateHer #BrighterFuture #StopBrexit #FBPE https://t.co/o5ch4KGu52

But there was one glaring issue with the post, and comedian Frankie Boyle was right on it.
Like a lot of things in this election, the irony of this guy thinking that if something gets just over 50% it should happen, is so broad as to be hardly worth mentioning. https://t.co/pzG0s69f2O
