Boris Johnson weighed in on the scone debate and got creamed – the only 5 comments you need
As a row broke out over whether serial avoider, Boris Johnson, would subject himself to an interview with the BBC’s bulldog, Andrew Neil, the PM appeared in a BBC video talking about that huge constitutional issue …how to prepare a scone.
Anyway, this is how that looked.
“The reason for putting the jam on first is because jam is adhesive”
Conservative leader Boris Johnson prepares a scone, saying, when asked about the correct order of jam and cream, that he "couldn't remember, so I guessed"https://t.co/lbGIAxEpOv pic.twitter.com/9DKu3krqqT

These five Twitter reactions summed up what people thought of the lightweight stunt.

If Corbyn was eating jam we’d have 20 minutes of questions on whether the strawberries were anti-Zionist

Singer and writer, @SpillerOfTea noted the massive Conservative majority predicted in the latest YouGov poll.
Polls not looking good lads, but with our lying, racist, homophobic, interview-dodging, report-suppressing Prime Minister being held firmly to account on his scone-eating preferences, it’s still very much all to play for. https://t.co/n8luMZBgRg

NB: The YouGov poll doesn’t take into account the fact that Johnson’s almost certainly lost the Devon cream tea vote.
