Our 11 favourite reactions to Jeremy Corbyn not watching the Queen’s Christmas speech
In a moment reminiscent of the great “Jeremy Corbyn didn’t bow deeply enough at the Cenotaph” scandal, people – and the usual suspect papers – are up in arms over Jeremy Corbyn not having a clue when the Queen’s Christmas broadcast is aired.
Does @jeremycorbyn make time for the Queen's speech?
He tells @julieetchitv: "We don't watch TV very much on Christmas Day."

Busted! Why he didn’t just say “By 10 in the morning I’m shitfaced on bucks fizz and egg nog so I haven’t a clue what time it is or what I’m watching.” is a mystery, but his real answer raised some eyebrows.

It seemed that Corbyn is in the majority on this.
The Queen's speech has broadcast figures of 6.6 million.
Most people don't watch it. https://t.co/TuxF1i3LTE

Twitter weighed in, because that’s its job …
A lot of people found both the lie and his lack of knowledge of the TV schedule baffling.
Honestly though no one watches the Queen's Speech but everyone knows it airs mid afternoon

the issue isn’t whether Cornyn watches the Queen’s Xmas speech (I mean who does) but why he would kind of pretend he does pic.twitter.com/IVBnJwVP5z

Others didn’t see the issue.

TOMORROW: Jeremy Corbyn just like the 90% of the population who don’t watch the Queen’s speech either – but lie about it to elderly people who seem to think that it’s important.#TomorrowsPapersToday #MailFrontPages pic.twitter.com/DjPaEmrxP0

It is with great regret that I have to announce that I can’t vote for Corbyn. The news that he doesn’t watch the Queen’s speech has shocked me to the core. I’ve never watched it myself but how can you trust such a man? Well done the media for focussing on this.

The only Queen's Christmas Speech I've ever watched is in The Crown when really it's about the chilly distance in her marriage when Prince Philip is orf around the world philandering.
