This guy got a warning letter from his employer because his crappy car was making them look bad

This is either a salutary lesson for all of us to clean our car a bit more often, or it’s an outrageous piece of bellendery by an employer poking its nose where it definitely doesn’t belong.

‘This email my coworker received today,’ wrote dorf-1 on Reddit.

‘He drives a 2005 Camry. It’s not wrecked, just old and fading paint. He never has to meet anyone that they would ever see the car. It’s literally just another car in the garage.’

That’s not what their boss thought though.

Here are just a few of the things people said about it.

‘If they aren’t offering a vehicle allowance there’s no reason they should care what he drives. If they were giving him a couple hundred or thousand a month to pay for a new vehicle/lease and he’s not using that they would have a valid reason to complain.’ NegativeRefrigerator

Other people were so outraged on their behalf that they were hoping the whole thing was fake.

‘I’m laughing because I am the VP Finance at my company and I drive a rusting 2007 accord. Almost all of my colleagues drive nicer cars than me, and I’m 99% certain that I’m in better financial standing than they are.’ Four_stalls
