‘Lack of minor illnesses. When I was in the office you could watch the infection spread out from patient 0 across the whole open plan office and know you were going to catch it. I’d be ill with something at least once a month and fairly often was patient 0 from something I picked up on the bus.

Working from home I’ve had maybe two colds in 4 years.’

‘Being able to order stuff online and know it won’t end up back at the sorting office, in the garden, with a neighbour or as a failed delivery. Makes life so much easier being home to receive stuff and being able to schedule the food shop for my lunch break for delivery.’

‘Knitting during meetings (the camera-off-but-must-listen kind). So many of us in my last team knit or sew that we had a Teams channel for it. In theory one can do it in the office but it tends to distract people when they can see it.’

‘The 1 minute commute. The company of the cat. The being able to put washing loads on during the day. Being able to vacuum the house when I have 5 mins downtime.

Being able to prepare food in advance during my lunch break for my tea. Not having to listen to mundane office drama. Saving money on fuel and less mileage on the car. There are tons of perks.’
