Can we normalize not asking work mates this every Monday . They ask and I try to avoid details by a cursory “yesh it was good “ then second question is “do anything fun?” Well if what you mean by “fun” is having time to myself away from work then yes it was a blast.

I know the feeling, people make you feel that you should be out taking part in activities when all you want to do is some gardening, listen to the radio and have a cup of tea.

Out of habit, I ask my colleagues if they had a good weekend. But….if I’m honest…..I don’t really care what kind of weekend they’ve had…..and really don’t want to know. I must stop doing this.

I’m 53, went to an afternoon BBQ yesterday with friends also in their 50’s. Was home by 8 pm. Today I painted some fence panels and had a nap on the sunlounger this afternoon

I worked with a 20 year old and we worked till 7.30pm, he always used to ask if I was doing anything after work.
I’m 45, all I’m doing is going home, eating, putting my pjs on and watching TV. Going out after work? absolutely ludicrous!— stacey kenyon (@hoof79) May 11, 2025

I do the same thats why I avoid lifts on Mondays. And take my own coffee and lunch. No chance for anyone to talk to me https://t.co/YoaHvh2jSI

Dude. 50 ain’t old. Lots of life left. Lots of smiles, and rockin’ out. Enjoy your brews in the backyard … But don’t let it take your edge away.
