The team were solid — saw everyone quickly, and would even ring patients like ‘Hey, we’ve had a cancellation, come in earlier if you can’. Most weekends we’d be done and out by 5PM or 6PM.

Until someone decided to tell upper management: ‘Oh yeah, everyone was seen by 5PM and we all left early.’ And that was that. Now you’re not allowed to leave until your shift end time, even if there’s literally nothing to do. They even enforce it over the hospital’s internal messaging system.’
