‘Not fake tanning any more. I used to be so self conscious about being pale and would spend basically all week tanning for a weekend night out – dropped it and not looked back!
Stopped wearing a full face of makeup every day, don’t know how I had the time.
Ironing – used to pay someone to do my ironing. Now I don’t care and have a steamer I use if it’s a formal thing and creases are too bad to pass off.’

‘I literally HATE going out to drink: much rather be at home with my friends drinking with whatever music we like playing and our own alcohol. Haven’t even been to the local club since lockdown and only go out like twice a year max.’

‘Wearing a mask. In the hospital pre-Covid it was a rarity to wear a mask for a patient unless they had a known infectious disease. Now I’ll stick it on if I can smell their feet before I bring them in.
A lot of colleagues wear one if they have a tickle of a cold or cough coming too, which definitly didn’t happen before.’

‘Brushing my teeth properly. It used to be a mad dash to get out the door but with all that time I brushed for a full two mins with each 30sec buzz of the electric toothbrush located to four quarters of my mouth/teeth. It used to be 45-60s.
I continue to work from home so I still don’t have to do a mad dash anymore and even when I do for whatever reason I still make sure I do a full two mins.’

‘I never drove to work anyway as I always walked or cycled… so I ended up replacing my old commute with a pseudo commute. Now I do an early morning walk and a lunchtime walk so I still get at least 7K steps in.’

‘I have become unbelievably tight with money. Great habit really that came out of not having the opportunity to spend and necessitating a quieter social life.
From a financial perspective, COVID completely changed my life for the better. I appreciate this makes me one of the lucky ones. I’m just especially pleased I’ve never reverted to frivolous spending.’
