A Brexiter tried to take down David Lammy and it was a spectacular fail
David Lammy has consistently pointed out the flaws in the Leave argument, as well as calling out its poster children for fake news and unacceptable behaviour, so it’s safe to say that they’re not fond of him. Arch Brexiter, Andy Wigmore – who once expressed admiration for the Nazis’ propaganda machine – tried to use a Trumpian approach to whipping up opposition to David Lammy.
One of several problems with that was that it wasn’t true, and David Lammy proceeded to debunk it completely.
Hi Andy, thanks for taking an interest in my CV. I'm very proud to represent the good people of Tottenham, but actually I had a few different jobs before. Here's a selection:
1. Warehouse handler.
2. Server at KFC.
3. Retail assistant.
4. Security guard.
5. Barrister. https://t.co/iT41SlzAVQ— David Lammy (@DavidLammy) April 29, 2019
Looks a little different to the Wigmore analysis. This is what other people had to say about the exchange.
Memo to self: Do not get into a silly (or any other kind of) argument with David Lammy because you will only come out of it looking like a plank.

“Called to the bar of England & Wales in 1994 at Lincoln's Inn & practised as a Barrister. You never know, if he’d stuck to that he could’ve defended you for driving without insurance, using illegal diplomatic number plates & an expired diplomatic ID, had the Police prosecuted.

Wish I could be surprised that @andywigmore made up @DavidLammy career for political point scoring, to damage an impressive reputation.
Draining the swamp should start with the politicians / lobbyists – elected or unelected – who deliberately use lies to win votes.

Andy is not a smart man.
A smart man would have Google'd what previous jobs Lammy has had and make a decision whether to attempt this weak gag or not.— Laz,husband of Rachel. Destroyer of Worlds. (@lazaroumterror) April 29, 2019
There’s been no response from Andy Wigmore, so far. He’s probably too busy looking for some ointment for that burn.
