Allison Pearson said the shadow education secretary’s GCSEs were ‘scary’ – only 4 replies you need
Daily Telegraph columnist Allison Pearson is worried. She’s especially worried about the GCSE grades achieved by Labour MP and shadow education secretary, Angela Rayner.
Rayner said this today at the Labour Party conference.
Angela Raynor: "My school, we affectionately nicknamed it Avonjail, but it was called Avondale, Avondale High School in Stockport. I left with no GCSEs above a D". Ms Rainer is the Shadow Secretary of State for Education & hopes to abolish private schools. pic.twitter.com/xzGpEsokab

And Pearson’s response prompted a large number of responses of its own.
No GCSEs above a D. Our shadow Secretary of State for Education…. Scary. https://t.co/gwPD7HjbCP

Scared? These people weren’t, the only 4 replies you need.
Despite extremely difficult circumstances at home and poor schooling, Angela Rayner has overcome more than most of us to reach the top of politics, to be contemporaries in British politics with people whose education fast-tracked them to Westminster. So well done to her. https://t.co/THIxwKJxNm

Yes Allison it's truly, truly shocking that somebody who was let down by their own schooling might be motivated to change the situation for others. https://t.co/XSTeZGWcsa

I have 5 A levels and degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Angela Rayner is a far better politician than I will ever be. And a far more admirable human being than the mean spirited snobs who sneer at her. https://t.co/mjcao8cUYc
