Our 7 favourite responses to Elon Musk sending a Tesla into space
It’ been a while since we put a man on the moon but the good news is it’s less than a day since we sent a car into space.

That’s Elon Musk and his cherry red Tesla which was propelled by the world’s largest rock towards Mars and beyond with David Bowie on the stereo and a tribute to Douglas Adams’ Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy on the dashboard.
And here are our 7 favourite things that people said about it today. Send us your thoughts in the comments. Or launch them into deep space, whichever you prefer.

If you’ve had it with these cynics and just want to celebrate an extraordinary scientific achievement, then we’ve got something for you as well.
When John Young glided the Space Shuttle Columbia back to Earth in 1981, he turned to Bob Crippen and said ‘We’re not too far away – the human race isn’t – from going to the stars’. I think the stars feel closer tonight 🙂 Thank you @SpaceX https://t.co/YvesNIEP79
