Ukip’s Neil Hamilton complained about ‘anti-Brexit’ 9-year-olds on the BBC and everyone’s making the same joke
Ukip’s Neil Hamilton isn’t happy with the BBC. No change there, you might think, except the thing that’s got his goat this time is an interview it did with a bunch of 9-year-olds who he said were ‘anti-Brexit’.
Not only that, the 9-year-olds gave ‘childish answers’ – how very dare they – which the BBC man just didn’t do enough to put right.
Here is the former Tory MP’s complaint in full, just in case you think we’re making this sh-t up.
I've written a complaint to the @BBC and @OfCom about the anti-Brexit bias on @BBCWorldatOne, where children as young as nine were asked about their views on Brexit. The full details are in the image below. pic.twitter.com/4VNmcQZXKu

And in case you can’t read it, the most pertinent bit highlighted.
Is this a spoof? Ukip's Neil Hamilton has made a formal complaint because the BBC didn't find any nine-year-olds in favour of Brexit. pic.twitter.com/So4vUegXVO

And here’s an example of an outrageous anti-Brexit answers delivered by one of the 9-year-olds.

Obviously spent too much time on Facebook, targeted by Cambridge Analytica, no doubt.
BBC is totally biased, where were all the disaster capitalist 9-year-olds https://t.co/eJGZRDocAB

BREXIT HAS PEAKED
Old posh man writes to Ofcom to complain that no nine year olds interviewed by the BBC supported Brexit.
He goes on to complain their “childish” views went unchallenged, like he expects the BBC to go full Jeremy fucking Paxman on some primary schoolers. https://t.co/4vJEy321bR

Here’s how people responded to him online.
Maybe, just maybe… children aren't racist fucksticks like you, and they see the benefit of being in the EU
It must be sad when you're intellectually challenged by a 9 year old
— Brexit Daily (@BrexitDaily) March 20, 2018
Mate, that's the generation whose going to vote us back in the EU, on worse terms, and never forgive your generation for losing us the rebate, opt-outs and sterling.

'Patently childish answers' from nine year olds, who'd have thought.
'Get me some intelligent pro-Brexit nine year olds immediately and address this imbalance!!'
— Ian McDougall (@IanMcDougall1) March 20, 2018
"My paper-thin pro-Brexit nonsense is transparent to even nine-year-olds and I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT"
— Richard Gaywood (@PenLlawen) March 20, 2018
You're upset because some 9 year olds talked about Brexit and you didn't like what they said. Is that the measure of it?
— Crispin (@SirMustard) March 20, 2018
Yep, he's upset that he's been intellectually bested by a group of small children
— Brexit Daily (@BrexitDaily) March 20, 2018
If even 9 yos can identify Brexit as being a stupid idea then just maybe it is?
— Geoff Shaw (@gshawisme) March 20, 2018
A bunch of 9 years old aren't as thick as me. I blame the BBC.

But this has to be our favourite.
Hope the kids weren’t offered any cash for the questions!
