One day into the Tory party conference and it’s already a shambles – the 16 best comments so far
Our overwhelming memories of last year’s Conservative Party Conference revolve around Theresa May’s disastrous speech, involving a coughing fit and a prankster handing her a P45, followed by the letters falling off the wall live on camera, so it’s fair to say, expectations for this year’s event haven’t been particularly high.

Even before it started, the app created to serve conference attendees had revealed a huge data breach, allowing delegates’ personal details to be accessed by everybody. The speeches have started, attendance is poor and the Foreign Secretary has compared the EU to Soviet Russia, offending those countries badly affected by the Soviets and helped by the EU
