A BBC reporter asked this chief exec to justify his £75m bonus and it’s brilliant TV (and utterly outrageous)

Hard to imagine quite how this could have been handled any worse. Howlingly bad PR for Persimmon. https://t.co/HQ7er7mG2v

What an utter disgrace. If you can’t defend your bonus, don’t take it. https://t.co/x8GBakAkgg

The last words of Jeff Fairburn, on this recording, released today: "I think that's really unfortunate really, that you've done that…". Presumably Jeff means unfortunate for Jeff Fairburn? Not *unfortunate* in some way for the person who asked him this honest and fair question? https://t.co/NuIi5mJRj3

And just in case you’re interested, Persimmon shareholders described the bonus as ‘grossly excessive’ and ‘totally and utterly unjustifiable’.
In the interests of balance …
His company is doing well. He got a bonus why shouldn’t he? Irrespective of the value?

And here’s the answer.
Because it isn’t proportionate to the job he’s done. It’s greedy, obscene, unjustifiable. There is a nationwide housing crisis and they have profited how much?! He isn’t the only culprit, there’s a deep rooted corporate epidemic of greed at the expense of the rest of us.
