Poppy fascists are, of course, legendary for respecting the choices of others, and for bearing in mind that soldiers died so that future generations could make free decisions such as not to wear a poppy, or to wear a poppy of their own preferred colour.https://t.co/5S24vKU7nx

This is really unfair. My late mother in law wore a white poppy because her father was a conscientious objector in the war – he didn’t fight but he was medical personnel. She never felt like it was right for her to wear a red one. ♀️

My mum & dad were pacifists.
He offered to drive ambulances but was turned down. He spent WW2 recruiting people for secret underground factories & firewatching at a hospital.
She was a nurse & cared for people with limbs blown off, hideous burns etc.

Wrong – no one fought and died so we could ‘choose what colour poppy to wear’.
White poppies remember ALL victims of war. Red ones, only military combatants of ‘our side’.
White poppies are a symbol for peace since the 30’s not attention seeking.@PPUtoday #whitepoppies
