Just a chilling (and very funny) insight into what it’s like to be part of Donald Trump’s backroom team
Here’s a fabulous 25-second insight into the world of Donald Trump’s White House staff, after the so-called president surprised everyone by announcing wind turbines cause cancer.
You remember, when he said this.
President Trump: "If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75% in value. And they say the noise causes cancer." pic.twitter.com/VFx6b11mob

And so naturally the follow-up questions came, and this response from Mercedes Schlapp, White House director of strategic communications, is simultaneously very funny and utterly depressing.
Question: "Do wind turbines cause cancer?"

But surely she does have the answer to that? EVERYONE has the answer to that, right?
They don’t

What’s wrong with me that I love this display of stupidity so much? https://t.co/UdlE3FGs06

The answer is NO, Mercedes! Geez, it’s okay to be smarter than the president.

I have been near a windmill. Should I see an oncologist or not?

No, just enjoy your remaining days

Director of Strategic Communications. Where will she go to get the answer so she can strategically communicate the answer to this challenging question? https://t.co/k8hmWd1MMg

Orwell's only mistake was underestimating how f'ing stupid it would all be. https://t.co/N9ts9Bl0Mg
