Scientists have revealed the Stonehenge builders were “Turkish” – 9+ funny reactions

Stonehenge is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, standing on Salisbury Plain as a testament to the determination and skill of the Neolithic people who placed it there. It’s almost synonymous with Great Britain, at least …it was.

Scientists have carried out DNA tests on the ancestors of those who built the monument, discovering that they originated in what is now Greece and Turkey.

Reports of the discovery implied the builders themselves were migrants.

To some people, it must have sounded as though teams of workers were bussed in from Turkey to whistle through their teeth, shake their heads, give an estimate and then take 2,500 years longer than they said they would to finish the job.

It was only natural that, in the current political climate, a certain take would prove popular.

Comedian, Tiernan Douieb, saw a certain logic in the findings.

Writer and editor Sirin Kale saw an opportunity.

And creative tweeter, Happy Toast, saw something very positive.

The Brexit Party won’t like any of that.
