People love this special order someone made for their dog at a posh restaurant
When eating out we all make the occasional request to have something slightly different from what’s on the menu.
But not all our requests are as lengthy as this one. Nor, it has to be said, are they all for a dog.
my friend is the chef at an extremely fancy nyc restaurant and this is an order he received today pic.twitter.com/tA1fWWSOjo

And just in case that’s tricky to read …
Beef burger
Med rare
Side salad
This is for a dog
No salt, no oil, no seasoning, no pepper
Absolutely plain, no toppings, no garnishes
No bacon, no pickles, no onion, no bread, no lettuce
No side salad
Just the plain pattie – this is for a dog
We hope the good dog enjoyed it.
i love that they wrote "this is for a dog" not once, but TWICE

does the dog talk to it's owner to make sure the patty isn't salted?

I’m assuming any of the extra messages are just automatically put under “type in” but I like to think this is verbatim what the customer dictated and kept telling them like “type in no salt, type in no lettuce”

This happens more often than you think.

I worked at a place in Silver Lake (Los Angeles) and we had a Dog Menu. No joke. Part of my life was warming a burger 10 seconds on both sides and tossing with plain rice in a bowl.
"I'm a dog Chef" I'd think to myself. This world…

@ericgeller Anytime I drop by In and Out, they know me and my dog well enough to include a burger patty, no but, no sides, no condiments. They always yell "Hi Henna!" out the drive thru window. pic.twitter.com/EKjsCBvVXU
