Boris Johnson humiliatingly lost his first Commons vote as PM – 13 favourite reactions
Boris Johnson’s managed something few prime ministers have ever managed before – he’s lost his first House of Commons vote. Congratulations, PM!
Johnson's first vote as PM and he's lost an MP, lost his majority, lost the vote and lost control of Commons.

MPs backed a move that will allow them to vote on a bill tomorrow which will in effect outlaw a no-deal Brexit.
Johnson’s humiliating defeat earns Johnson a record of sorts, just not one he would have wanted.
This is the first House of Commons vote of the Johnson premiership. The last Prime Minister to be defeated on their first vote was the Earl of Rosebery in March 1894. @DArcyTiP

Now the PM says he will table a bill calling for a snap general election. While you try to get your head around that, enjoy (or otherwise) our favourite responses to Johnson’s abject defeat.

The sense of bewildered entitlement born of a lifetime of having never been told “no”. The schadenfreude is delicious.

Remember if it had not been for Johnson and Cummings "genius" prorogation then this vote would not have been held and lost and we would be on steady course for a likely No Deal Brexit
Huge political blunder

Does anyone know how to fix a telly that's been kicked to the floor and stamped on while shouting "shut up you ridiculous authoritarian twat"?

Next time Boris Johnson performs that ridiculous bumbling buffoon routine, remember the rage on his face as he screamed across the dispatch box. Never seen a PM lose their composure quite like that before.

Boris Johnson gave a shit speech, lost his majority live on TV, lost the vote, and now he's off to fire his hero's grandson. A master tactician.
