ITV’s Chris Ship failed the newsreader paper-shuffle challenge

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a newsreader at the end of a broadcast will straighten their notes in a businesslike fashion as the credits roll. ITV’s Chris Ship gave it the old college try, but his unruly paper simply wasn’t playing.

That’s surely a day one of journalism school kind of thing, along with looking solemn when announcing a death and saying “and finally” in a jaunty way.

People – mainly his colleagues – enjoyed his botched shuffle, however, and let him know it.

Chris had an excuse for his minor fail.

Perhaps men are bad at multitasking after all.
