This Tom Cruise stunt is wild – but the last 5 seconds are flipping amazing

This short clip of a mind-blowing Tom Cruise stunt picked up more than five million views in a day – and we’ve watched it at least six times, so we’re not surprised.

We knew he was a daredevil, but this is something else.

Back in April, he broke off from filming Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning to address CinemaCon before the screening of Top Gun: Maverick. It’s a literal publicity stunt.

It’s a little hard to hear – with him being strapped to a plane and all that – so we thought the transcript might be useful.

“Hey, everyone! I wish I could’ve been there with you.

I’m sorry for all the extra noise. As you can see, we are filming the latest instalment of Mission: Impossible, and right now we’re over the gorgeous Blyde River Canyon in stunning South Africa.

And we’re making this film for the big screen, for the audiences to see in your wonderful theatres.”

The chap in the other plane is director Christopher McQuarrie, who warned Cruise that they were low on fuel and losing the light, before the impressive, or possibly just certifiable, stunt.

Here are a few comments that made a lot of sense.

Sean O’Connor had this one request.

Somehow can’t imagine him bungee jumping in a Port-A-Loo
