Something about Tommy Robinson’s D-Day tribute didn’t look quite right and got him mocked into next year
World leaders have been gathering in northern France to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
On 6 June 1944, tens of thousands of soldiers landed on five beaches in Normandy. The largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare, it played a crucial role in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the liberation of Europe.
Extraordinary and incredibly moving scenes they were too.
Less so was this tribute by Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, AKA Tommy Robinson, who paid his own tribute of sorts on Twitter.
And quite apart from anything else you might want to say about it (or him) there was something about it that really confused people (see if you can spot it).
Got it yet? Of course you’ve got it!
They’re going the wrong way you utter dimwit. pic.twitter.com/YEZB64lznW

And just in case he still hadn’t got it.
Why are they walking into the sea? That’s the wrong way you clackwanker pic.twitter.com/DvIjP86If6

Some people went beyond the call to point it out to him direct.
They are going the wrong way …

To which he replied …
It’s a picture of them taking the wounded to evacuate them.

Oh, right. Really?
Yeah. In full packs. With not a stretcher in sight. Oh dear or dear, you’re not very bright are you. It’s an AI image

OTD in 1944, the Allied Forces moonwalked their way onto the beaches in Normandy. #lestweforget

What a terrible image, troops going the wrong way, the sea conditions were nothing like this, the ships are all in the wrong position, Artificial Intelligence image generated by fools with no intelligence.

Tommy’s AI Tommies off to fight the aquatic nazi hordes.

Omg, that is so on-brand for SYL

Dear Steve “Tommy Robinson” Yaxley – your photo shows American soldiers running off the beaches into the sea. Are they suffering from false identity and running home to commit mortgage fraud? https://t.co/XjcqaPcnXW

Maybe he’s confused between D Day and Dunkirk? An easy mistake for a fascist.

There’s already loads of actual pictures from that day avaliable, yet he chose to use AI generated pic which shows soldiers heading the wrong way …… https://t.co/GxtTtCdVdb

And finally …
Presumably Tommy has shared a picture of them walking back into the sea because he’d have wanted the Germans to win. pic.twitter.com/dQNht8eFJ1
