Nigel Farage isn’t happy that Glasgow kids speak more than one language and ended up schooled into next year

…
This isn’t new. It doesn’t mean the children don’t speak English. There is a whole host of reasons why someone won’t have English as their first language.
“Children should only speak 1 language” might be the most ridiculous Reform argument I’ve heard yet. https://t.co/7scb9ivTNE

3 in 3 schoolchildren in Glasgow think you’re a rancid tit. https://t.co/rf8eAd41q3

Let`s call this what it is – this is racism and he doesn`t try to hide it. Diversity has benefitted Scotland in so many ways , and will continue to do so in the future. https://t.co/JegCRwt8hN

Very proud to live in a city full of so many talented, multilingual young people
The racist freaks in Reform should leave our kids alone https://t.co/2EMW0T0QiL

The notion that English, of all languages, is embattled because some children in UK are lucky enough to be multilingual is as absurd as it is demagogic. @reformparty_uk is a flatly racist org that should not be treated as a legitimate part of the national conversation. https://t.co/7dHeewA6U3

This is disgusting. Naked, rabble-rousing racism using children as political pawns.@GrahamSMSP you surely cannot endorse this rhetoric? https://t.co/LeZWzaIVFE

Only 1.5% of Glasgow’s entire population speaks Gaelic.
This is not diversity. This is culture smashing.
In all seriousness, children being multilingual should be celebrated.
That’s only 20,717 kids out of a population of around 650,000.
Don’t let these charlatans divide us! https://t.co/27EX8SvS07

To conclude …
Nearly 1 in 3 schoolchildren in Glasgow speak more than one language.
That’s quite impressive isn’t it?
We should all speak more than one language

And also.
Or another way of looking at it….
Scottish Gaelic is the traditional language of Scotland. 72% of Glasgow school children having English as their first language is far to high.

Must try harder, Farage.
