Russell Brand finally found the Bible passage he desperately wanted to show Piers Morgan and it only made things even funnier – 13 biblical takedowns
Spare a thought – only kidding – for Russell Brand, whose appearance on Piers Morgan’s YouTube show, it’s fair to say, didn’t go entirely to plan.
And nowhere did it go more wrong that this moment, when the former presenter of a Big Brother spin-off show couldn’t find a particular passage in the Bible that he was oh-so-desperate to share with Morgan.
It prompted no end of mockery, nowhere better captured than this response from the estimable @tobytarrant.

The good news for Brand is that – YESSSS! – he’s finally found it.
Wait! @piersmorgan I’ve found that verse!!
The really important thing is that we, you, me all of us are loved.
And not because of anything we have accomplished or ever could achieve.
But because of who loves us. pic.twitter.com/bbtRMTJLO9

The bad news was it did nothing to stop the mockery. In fact, it might even have ramped it up even further. And these people surely said it best.

it took Jesus less time to resurrect himself from the dead than it took to you to finally locate a verse in a book that is coded numerically.
