Melania Trump took aim at Jimmy Kimmel after he dared make a joke about her it and it was a glorious self-own – 17 people who came clutching receipts

There was no White House Correspondents dinner this year for reasons we won’t need to go into, but before all that happened Jimmy Kimmel did a spoof correspondents dinner of his own.

And very good it was too, including the late night talk show host’s gag about Melania Trump which was a proper 10/10 job.

Boom!

And it turns out Melania Trump didn’t appreciate it – well, we didn’t think she would. Except she didn’t stop there, she went on Twitter to issue this diatribe ending with a demand that ABC dismiss Kimmel tout suite.

Here’s what she had to say just in case it’s tricky to read in full.

‘Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.

‘People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.

‘A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.

‘Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.’

And we’re glad she did, in a way, because it prompted no end of people to turn up clutching receipts, and these people surely said it best.
