Bad day at work? At least you’re not the Reform group insisting they’re at a disadvantage because they don’t understand council terms or proceedings
Somebody get Guinness on the phone – we think we’ve found the biggest facepalm moment in council history.
Over at Kirklees, West Yorkshire, the council ran into a problem while trying to elect a leader. The Reform Group leader, Sarah Wood, who had thrown her own hat into the ring for the job, complained that her group of newly elected councillors couldn’t be expected to vote, as they had no clue what they were voting on.
Check this out.
Don’t understand the constitution.
Don’t understand standing orders.
Don’t understand an amendment.

“I don’t understand what standing orders are – what they’re made up of. Nor do I understand what an amendment is. We might vote for something that we don’t understand at the moment.”
“We don’t understand the constitution.”
“I understand just because we don’t know we understand it, we are at a disadvantage. We don’t necessarily know what we are voting for.”
“When you are elected, you have to prioritise educating yourself on how to be the best councillor and representative for your area. That’s on you.”

The vote was postponed until next week, giving the Reform Group a long weekend to do the homework they should have done as soon as they were nominated.
Remember when Nigel Farage said that people would know how good a Reform government would be because they could see how well their councillors were doing? Well… he was right.
1.
New Reform councillors off to a great start by refusing to vote on anything because they haven't a clue what anything means, how anything works or what the fuck they are doing. Vote Reform, get lazy, incompetent, ignorant morons. pic.twitter.com/F5SGFXXgbo

If this was someone turning up to work on their first day in any other job, HR would be wondering if they lied on their CV. https://t.co/wSBqoDGRbB

Are they taking the fucking piss? There should obviously be a level of patience as they start the role, but to put yourself forward as a candidate, run a campaign, be elected and STILL not know basic political processes and terminology is an embarrassment. https://t.co/aPYihCuKwY

Well, this looks promising. Reform councillors are struggling with the basics. They even voted against their own motion.
We need the legend Jackie Weaver to tell them to read the standing orders. Read them and understand them!! pic.twitter.com/EJ5723EV5w

So glad Reform is running several massive local government budgets for vital services. Please stop voting for these utter imbeciles. pic.twitter.com/uz73LDacmu

If you vote for a Reform Government you will get this but 100x worse.
You will get 100+ people in Government that have absolutely no idea how anything works. Some of you may think that's a good idea, but it's not. https://t.co/EFvA2s9Ovd
