The Trump campaign responded to the impeachment decision with a meme of him as Thanos
After hearing all the testimony and reviewing the evidence, the House Democrats plan to impeach Donald Trump on two articles: Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress, which could see him face imprisonment if the charges go ahead.
The news drew mixed reactions in the US.
Impeachment wasn't inevitable because Democrats hate Donald Trump.
Impeachment was inevitable because patriots hate traitors.#ArticlesOfImpeachment

Democrats have committed Treason!
They are impeaching Trump because they hate him. This has nothing to do with Trump and the American people.

The President’s official campaign account, @TrumpWarRoom, reacted in typical Trump fashion – with a tacky and inappropriate meme.
House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they want.

“Thanos” trended on Twitter for hours, but most of the comments were more baffled than impressed. These six were our favourites.

Um… isn't Thanos a supervillain? https://t.co/HJ6igKPk3l

So you're arguing that Trump is Thanos ("The Mad Titan") who wants to kill half of all living things, but in the end winds up defeated and dying, taking all of his sycophantic followers down with him?
Great work, everyone. https://t.co/gFLPVch2An

Trump's team is presenting him as a narcissistic child-abusing villain intent on wiping out half of all life, AND picked the moment right before Thanos was defeated. #TheBestPeople https://t.co/mNtVGL1Wqa

Twitter user RJ had come to a worrying conclusion.
I am really, finally, sadly coming to terms with something truly heartbreaking. Trump supporters know he is the bad guy. They want evil to triumph over good. That is almost half of America, happy to be the bad guys.

Marvel should make a film about it.
