We love this old 1970s ad for cheese: “CHEESE IS MANFOOD!”

This advert was placed in the magazine Woman’s Way by National Dairy Council in 1970.

There’s so much to enjoy:

  • These fine specimens of ordinary men – no models here
  • the phrase “cheese is manfood!” arguably sexist as there’s no shortage of women who love cheese but MY GOSH, THIS POKE WRITER IS MALE AND HE LOVES CHEESE. Cheese is manfood!
  • The amazing idea of seducing men with cheese – it’s genius. Cheesnius.
  • The look of delight on the chap’s face who’s been served cheese. His hands in the air, “oh my! my favourite! cheese!”
