Basically the schadenfreude of this whole cluster-fuck is beautiful: greedy production company wants all of the money and overreaches and could end up with nothing.

How mad is it to enter into a deal like this and just assume your stars will tag along?

It’s basically a Greek morality play about greed and capitalism. Except it’s British and about cakes.
