People can’t believe the ‘cartoonish’ sketch that led to this man’s arrest
Police said an eye witness’s hand-drawn sketch helped them catch a man suspected of stealing cash from a farmer’s market. Here’s what they had to say.
“While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name.”
And when they say ‘cartoonish’ they are not kidding.

That’s him! I’d know those eyes anywhere.
Here’s what the Lancaster police department in Pennsylvania had to say about it on their Facebook page.
“After the initial release, some Investigators and veteran Officers recognised the physical description and modus operandi for the theft suspect.
While the sketch provided by the witness may have appeared amateurish and cartoonish, it, along with the distinctive physical descriptors, jogged the memory of at least one investigator to provide a potential suspect name.
That potential suspect information was passed on to Officer Rothermel. A photo array was prepared and later shown to the witness that provided Officer Rothermel with the description and sketch.
The witness positively identified Hung Phuoc Nguyen as the suspect that impersonated the stand holder and took the money at Central Market. Officer Rothermel filed a Criminal Complaint against Nguyen charging him with 2 Counts Theft By Unlawful Taking.”
That’s as maybe, but people couldn’t help but see the funny side of the sketch that led to his arrest.
It’s a masterpiece! Dying!

I need a Netflix series on the witness that did the sketch. I’m also looking into getting put in The Louvre.

The witness? It's the police officer who identified the suspect from the sketch who deserves a medal!
