Here is the list that was pasted into the lid of the box. All in English but with some French place names mentioned, we think. Could have been holiday photographs? Presumably a reasonably well-off family if so? Would love to find out more about them. Or even just date them. pic.twitter.com/sQzw4RhHtH

If anyone knows of anyone who might be able to help with dating or identification then do please share and spread the word.
Thanks.

UPDATE: Dad and I want to thank everyone who has responded with RTs, offers of help, advice, tips and words of encouragement. We are hugely appreciative and are sorry that we cannot reply to every message.
We will post updates when we discover more about the photos.

Awesome stuff. And these responses weren’t bad either.
How wonderful! Really enjoyed this thread!

I have a collection of glass slides that belonged to my Grandfather. We have no idea where he got them from but they are images taken in France during WW1. I have the viewer and the images are almost 3D.

Was I the only one checking for a levitating girl, a boy with bees, and a peregrine?

My father found these on glass plates in his grandfather’s camera. One is of my father’s great grandfather. My father is 80 so I’d suggest the pictures must be from late 19th century. Similar poses and fashions to yours, aren’t they? pic.twitter.com/PmCBBxiSV5

It’s wild that these were someone’s treasured memories once and have ended up in a car boot sale. Shows you bow time can easily break connections. I wonder what the people in them would think about a load of strangers discussing their photos on the internet?
